Acebutolol Dosage

Follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label . Use this medicine only as directed. Take Acebutolol exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Stopping Acebutolol suddenly could cause your condition to worsen.

Uses of Acebutolol

  • Acebutolol is used to lower blood pressure , lower heart rate, and reduce angina ( chest pain ).

  • When used to treat high blood pressure, it is effective used alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications, particularly with a thiazide-type diuretic.
  • Acebutolol is indicated as a medicine for Hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmias.

Side Effects of Acebutolol

Follwing are some side effects noticed with this medicine -

  • Chest pain (may be related to your disease and not a side effect)
  • Fainting or severe dizziness
  • Slow, fast, or irregular heartbeat
  • Swelling of your feet or ankles
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising
  • Wheezing or trouble breathing
  • Yellow eyes or skin

Warnings and precautions while taking Acebutolol:

  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to the beta-blocker medicine prescribed. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives, or dyes.
  • Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Acebutolol may cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities.
  • There are many drugs that can interact with acebutolol. This especially includes medicines for asthma, colds (including nasal spray or drops), or diabetes.
  • Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
  • This medicine may make you dizzy. Avoid driving, using machines, or doing anything else that could be dangerous if you are not alert.

What to do if Overdose

  • An overdose of this medication is unlikely to occur. If you do suspect an overdose, call an emergency room or poison control left near you. If the drops have been ingested (taken by mouth), call an emergency left for advice.

What to do if miss a Dose

  • Take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Never take 2 doses at the same time.
